A highly experienced HR professional and local business owner, bringing a wealth of expertise in people management, employment law, and organisational development. With a strong background in human resources, they have held HR Manager and HR Officer roles across several London-based organisations, including internationally recognised companies such as Discovery Channel and Viacom.

Academically, they hold a BSc in Employment Law and a BSc in Sociology, complemented by CIPD training, providing a solid foundation in employment relations, workplace culture, and human resource management.

As a parent of children who attended one of our schools, they have a strong understanding of the local community and a personal appreciation of the impact that high-quality education can have on young people and their families. Their combination of commercial experience, HR leadership expertise, and community connection enables them to bring valuable insight, challenge, and support to governance discussions.

They are passionate about helping organisations develop effective people strategies, foster positive working cultures, and ensure robust governance and accountability arrangements that support long-term success.

This broad range of experience makes them well placed to contribute strategically to the work of the Trust and its schools.

Dr Bryan Mills started his career as a builder, returning to education in his mid-twenties to do a degree in business. This sparked an interest in education which led to a doctorate in economics that examined the role of market towns in rural areas.  Nearly three decades later, Bryan is still working in education, teaching a variety of business and maths-related subjects to FE and HE students.  During this time, he has served as an external examiner for numerous UK universities and presented papers at national and international conferences, many on entrepreneurial education.    Presently, Bryan’s responsibilities include teaching, coaching other staff and working with Plymouth University as a Partnership Manager looking after degree provision in southwest colleges.  Having served as a governor and trustee at his children’s primary and nursery schools, he has now joined the board at Rainbow Academy.

Robert Webber was a Political Assistant in the European Parliament to Mary Honeyball MEP, and to Candy Atherton MP (Camborne and Redruth).  Other previous public roles have included six years as a Camborne Town Councillor serving as Chair of the Finance Committee, and four years as a Cornwall Councillor serving as vice-chair of both the Finance and Resources Committee and Audit Committee during this time. Robert was also a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.  Robert was previously trustee and treasurer of Camborne Community Centre and is currently a member of Camborne & Redruth Catholic Parish Finance Committee.  Robert is the vice-chair of the Board of Directors of The Rainbow Multi Academy Trust, a member of the Pay Committee and chair of the Trust’s Finance and Resources Committee.

Rob Adams is a retired Headteacher of a local nursery and primary school. Currently a school improvement advisor in the primary phase in Cornwall, Rob is also a coach for the youth section of St Ives Rugby Club and St Ives Surf Life Savers.  Rob is the chair of the Trust’s Standards Committee, and a member of the Trust’s CEO Performance Management Review panel.

Linda is the Trust’s safeguarding director and is a member of the Trust’s Standards Committee, as well as being a local governor. 

Judith Smitham has two convenience stores and been a Subpostmaster for fifteen years. Judith is a member of a Women in Convenience Group, and an Ambassador for the Association of Convenience Stores.
Experience in the education sector includes eleven years as a governor of a stand-alone academy, including three years as Chair.
Passionate about the plight of disadvantaged young people she has been a Director of Truro Community Land Trust, their Treasurer and remains a member.
Judith also joins the Finance Committee.
